Sunday Sundown Rundown - 11/17/13

1. Jennifer Lawrence - Her candid comments regarding today's culture and how "it's disgusting that young sex sells" was one that was truthful and unbelievably refreshing from a young female celebrity. Kudos to her for taking a stand and being honest on the topic. 

2. Sony Playstation 4 - Available to the masses for only 24 hours, and it has already sold over 1 million consoles! That is pretty impressive. 

3. J.J. Worton Catch - There have been some pretty sick football catches this season, but this one is pretty sweet. Also, it was clutch...and that always adds to the drama.

1. Philippines Destruction - The destruction and damage done to the Philippines is heartbreaking. Here is to hoping for continued recovery. 

2. Illinois Tornadoes - I can't even imagine what it is like to be in an area that had a reported 67 tornadoes touch down. The devastation is massive, and widespread. Its been tough times with natural disasters as of late. 

3. Obamacare - What a disaster this entire reform has been, huh? This week, it became even more evident as sign-up numbers are not what were expected, and the change has left millions WITHOUT (ironic, huh?) health insurance after their coverage was dropped. 

Honorable Mention - New York Knicks - They have been such a disaster this season thus far. And Saturday's game against the Hawks proved that.

Dome Pondering Move Review: Say You Will (2017)

What is it about? A recent high school graduate cares for his mother while attempting to navigate his first relationship following his father's suicide.  Who is in it? Travis Tope - Sam Nimitz Katherine Hughes - Ellie Vaughn Favorite Scene: [spoiler alert] Sam plays his song for his mom. Favorite Quote: Ellie: "I wish we could have met down the road, maybe when we were like 27." Sam: "I think we needed each other now." Review:  Say You Will was an absolutely pleasant surprise of a watch from the Amazon Prime offerings.  I wasn't exactly sure what to expect with this one, but after the credits rolled, it was a movie that provided authentic characters and a great lesson on life. Dome Pondering Movie Review: Hello, I Must Be Going (2012)

What is it about? A woman moves back in with her parents following a shocking divorce. An unlikely affair with a younger guy revives her life and perspective on marriage. Who is in it? Melanie Lynskey - Amy Christopher Abbott - Jeremy Blythe Danner - Ruth Favorite Scene: Amy's dad, who is often much easier on her than her mom, comes to her bedside and gives her some money. She refuses, then he insists. She then asks, "whose happiness are you buying?" Favorite Quote: Where the f** is 'bottom'? Where the motherf***ing f*** is motherf***ing 'bottom'? Review: Hello, I Must Be Going was an interesting watch. I've always found Melanie Lynskey to be an intriguing actor, and her role in this was just that.  What makes this film so interesting is that, going into the film, you believed this would be a film documenting Amy's journey from recent divorcee into...well, wherever it is she goes. Yankees 2025 Postseason - Ponderings and Stuff

Because of the response I received last year for my ponderings on last year's World Series , I decided to do the same for this year's MLB Postseason run. I'll drop some quick ponderings on the Yankees and their playoff run here. Because, well, I don't do "response videos".  Yeah, still a words guy. Still a nerd. Nonetheless, who knows? If the Yankees drop a quick two to the despised Boston Red Sox, this might be a quick wrap-up.
