Sunday Sundown Rundown - 2/16/14

3 Up

1. Enjoyable Job - Even after the past two weeks I've endured at work where I averaged about 65 hours each, I didn't mind it too much. It's weeks like the past two that I truly realize how much I enjoy doing what I do for a living. And at times, just thanking Jesus that I have a chance at a career, and a honest living.

2. Hockey - I enjoy Olympic hockey over the product the NHL produces. I say it every four years during the Winter Olympics. Once again, hockey delivered another wonderful, dramatic, story. And again, the sport, especially the NHL, has a chance to capitalize on the casual interest.

3. Baseball is Back - I cannot express how happy I was to watch baseball today. College baseball between LSU and Grambling State University in the Urban Invitational - the MLB Network is the greatest thing ever. Ever!

3 Down

1. Lady Faking Rape Accusation - I'm sure women like this are why the real women who are unfortunately assaulted in this cruel world have a tough time coming forward. Ugh...unbelievable.

2. Weather - When will it stop snowing here in the Northeast? Seriously. I'm really sick of this weather. I pretty much ready for Spring at this point.

3. NBA Slam Dunk Contest - ZZzzzzzzzzzzz. Wow, that contest was the runs. Not only were the changes and rounds confusing, but they did more to damage the event than the original rules the league felt were outdated. The free style round does nothing but desensitizing the audience to the athleticism and spectacular-ness of dunking. And there is a winning team with fans voting for a "Dunker of the Night"? Yup, the runs.

Would You Rather: Questions 121-130

This edition of "Would You Rather" is credited to the NBA Would You Rather NBA Account on Instagram ( See Here ). Adding to the fun, this edition (and possibly future ones) are all NBA basketball questions.  121. Who would you rather have on your favorite NBA team - Giannis Antetokounpo or James Harden?  Seeing how I'm a lifelong suffering Knicks fan, the thought of any of these guys in blue and orange is hard to believe. With that said, I'm taking the Greek Freak for this reason - I enjoy watching him play a bit more. Nothing against Harden who is amazing as well, but at times, the ball sticks and that isn't always fun. Plus, I feel like we haven't yet seen a finished Giannis. 122. Would you rather have Giannis Antetokounpo with no driving ability or James Harden with no Three-Point shooting ability?  This is definitely a weird and unique one, but I'll take Harden. Giannis without his strength doesn't offer much. However, if Harden's d...

Sunday Sundown Rundown - 2/15/26

Sunday Sundown Rundown returns! Going forward, I'll be sharing thoughts and ponderings in a format of three simple thoughts, opposed to the former "3 Up, 3 Down" of the past.   Mother of Savannah Guthrie I haven't been closely following the developments. I've checked in here and there, mostly hoping that this horrific story comes to an end. I simply continue to sympathize with concern, as not only are the emotions of having one's mother kidnapped for ransom more than enough to bear, but to have it played out publicly, before the nation, helplessly, is an unfathomable reality to understand. And of course, as all things in this culture, the story has been manipulated, pulled apart, and coerced into political representations that are not true, or at the very worst, worthy of discussion considering that someone's life - a person's mother - is at stake.  Winter Olympics It's not my favorite. Summer Olympics are my jam. Nonetheless, this Winter Olympics...

The Pondering 10 - 2026 NBA All-Star Weekend

Contrary to the discourse that always surrounds the NBA All-Star Weekend, I genuinely enjoyed the weekend, and even more so, the All-Star Game. No, for real. All love here.  Although the Dunk Contest really is on its last legs. That was tough to watch.  Nonetheless, I'm keeping it all good vibes on this one as a fan. Just a quick Pondering 10 on my favorite things from the 2026 NBA All-Star Weekend.  --- View this post on Instagram A post shared by New York Knicks 🏀 (@nyknicks) 10. JB vs. KAT Moment Big Knicks homer moment here. If you frequent these parts, you already know that. Watching the Captain go at KAT brought a moment of joy for all of us in Knicks fandom. Neither one came away with anything. I'm just glad they're in perfect health as we head toward the second half of the season with the Playoffs looming.  9. VJ Edgecomb Wins Rising Stars MVP It's a tough admit for me. Because, I already enjoy Tyrese Maxey's game so much. Now, another ...
