Dome Pondering Movie Review: American Hustle (2013)

What is it about? 

Two cons are eventually caught and forced to work with the FBI in order to receive immunity and release. What ends up happening is them becoming wrapped up in a world of politics, the mafia, and other issues well beyond their league.

Favorite Scene: 

After a scheduled meeting between "The Sheik" and developers from Miami, who really are the mob, the entire situation almost blows up when Arabic is spoken to the fake Sheik. 

Favorite Quote: 

"Did you ever have to find a way to survive and you knew your choices were bad, but, you had to survive?"

Review: 

American Hustle, as I'm sure you are well aware of by now, is a great movie. After seeing the film, it is pretty evident why the film was nominated for Academy Awards in various facets of cinema. The film's writing is superb, the acting is an all-star cast (Christian Bale is phenomenal in this film), and of course, the scenery and wardrobes are fantastic. Really, the clothing and styling in the film is really, really, fantastic. Great job by the stylists.

There really isn't anything that can be said that hasn't already. American Hustle is a superb film. Catch it when you can.

What is it about? A recent high school graduate cares for his mother while attempting to navigate his first relationship following his father's suicide.  Who is in it? Adding to the fun, this edition (and possibly future ones) are all NBA basketball questions.  121. Who would you rather have on your favorite NBA team - Giannis Antetokounpo or James Harden?  Seeing how I'm a lifelong suffering Knicks fan, the thought of any of these guys in blue and orange is hard to believe. Sunday Sundown Rundown - 3/22/26

Airports, TSA, and Safety We all get frustrated with work. Whatever your work environment is, or whatever it is you do for a living, there is always a time or something that bothers you.  This week I'm thinking about TSA agents. They deal with people - come on now, they deal with the same people we people watch and shake our heads to at the airport - every single day. And for the last couple of weeks, they haven't been paid. How's that for frustrated and unfair?  And if the situation wasn't weird enough, ICE agents will begin working at airports tomorrow as part of their enforcement duties.  Travel just got more weird.
