The Pondering 10 - Favorite Stadium Jams

Remember Jock Jams? Oh, come on! I know you do! Regardless, all sports fans enjoy the feel of a live sporting event, especially that of the tunes that fills the void that drives, directs, and synchronizes our mood with the feeling on the playing field at the moment. We all have our favorites. Whether it gets you pumped, focused, energized, psyched, or however else you feel when your adrenaline kicks in, these songs are the life blood of sporting events. The following Pondering 10 is a list of my favorite stadium jams.

10. "Final Countdown" By Europe - This song is tremendous. The idea of a simple beat with a hook that caps off generic lyrics by yelling, "it's the final countdown!" makes for a great sound during an event.

9. "Lose Yourself" By Eminem - Eminem really had a hit here. This song can motivate you do just about anything. Heck, I listened to it get me in the zone for debates when I was my college debate team. College debates! Just gotta lose yourself.

8. "Seven Nation Army" By The White Stripes - Great bass play. And yes, you must love the opening. Just awesome.

7. "Song 2" By Blur - Wooohoo! Yelling that and nodding your head is inevitable when this song is playing.

6. "Sirius" By Alan Parsons Project - Even this Knicks fan will admit, I still say in my head, "Annnnnnnd at guard, six foot-six inches, from North Carolina..." Yeah you know, that guy. Yeah, him.

5. "We Will Rock You" By Queen - A classic, but always does the trick.

4. "We Are The Champions By Queen - I'm convinced Queen makes more money on royalties than they did when they actually were producing music. Nonetheless, what fan doesn't like this song? Usually, when it's played, it's for the ultimate reason.

3. "Hey Song" - In a perfect world, I would have this song blare in my house as soon as I get up and get ready for the day.

2. "Machine Head" By Bush - I love this song. My go to song before college debates. This song gets me through extra miles, sets, and reps at the gym. And usually when it's played inside of a sports arena, it gets me going. Especially, when performed by a band.

1. "Enter Sandman" By Metallica - The best. I hear it now, and it makes me a bit sad because my main guy, Mariano Rivera is no longer running out of the bullpen. Regardless, still a great song. Still gets me pumped.

Would You Rather: Questions 121-130

This edition of "Would You Rather" is credited to the NBA Would You Rather NBA Account on Instagram ( See Here ). Adding to the fun, this edition (and possibly future ones) are all NBA basketball questions.  121. Who would you rather have on your favorite NBA team - Giannis Antetokounpo or James Harden?  Seeing how I'm a lifelong suffering Knicks fan, the thought of any of these guys in blue and orange is hard to believe. With that said, I'm taking the Greek Freak for this reason - I enjoy watching him play a bit more. Nothing against Harden who is amazing as well, but at times, the ball sticks and that isn't always fun. Plus, I feel like we haven't yet seen a finished Giannis. 122. Would you rather have Giannis Antetokounpo with no driving ability or James Harden with no Three-Point shooting ability?  This is definitely a weird and unique one, but I'll take Harden. Giannis without his strength doesn't offer much. However, if Harden's d...

3 Up 1. MLB Players Weekend - The (insane) traditionalists had a problem with it, but the weekend produced plenty of fun games and moments, and gave fans and players a really cool weekend to be themselves and enjoy the game. I have a ton of stuff to share in the next Dope Sports Threads. Overall, can't wait for the next one... 2. MTV VMA's - Look, there were moments I had no idea what was going on, and I thought Katy Perry was incredibly awkward as the host. However, the moments that promoted fights against hate and empowered people to be themselves were awesome. Especially, Pink's speech - such good stuff. The VMA's still have plenty of work to do though under their new management. 3. Giancarlo Stanton - I think he just hit another home run. The guy has 50(!) and we're not into September, yet. Can he hit 63? Should be interesting going forward if he can stay hot.  3 Down 1. Hurricane Harvey - The devastation and flooding going on in South Texas...

Thoughts on TNA on AMC Debut: "Yup, TNA is back. It is so back."

TNA is back.  And I know that because it is heavily under scrutiny by the internet. But that criticism comes with being back on a major platform like the AMC Network, and of course, taking the next step after a super successful 2025.  So, what did I think?  The show was...ummmm okay, at best. Some of the challenges the company faced heading into this weekend were well documented among the rumor mill, which didn't bode well for the company. In balancing reported visa issues with talent, pivoting after losing core talent to free agency, and attempting to build and manage talent workload with a premium live event on Saturday, TNA found themselves in the usual TNA stuff. The most peculiar - and strangest - of situations to be in going into a big network premiere. This company, man! All in all, again, the show was okay. It had its flaws. It had some cool moments. It didn't live up to the hype (or the expectations we each had for such a premiere). But it's one show. TNA has put...
