Sunday Sundown Rundown - 4/8/18

3 Up

1. Wrestlemania Weekend - Wrestlemania Weekend is now SO much more than just the biggest wrestling show of the year. Any and everything that is wrestling descends upon the host city and it is absolutely awesome. I've been watching countless hours of wrestling each night since Friday, and all of it - ALL OF IT - has been extraordinary. Wrestlemania here in NYC next year might be a problem. :)

2. Black Panther - I haven't seen the film yet. Of course, I haven't been to a movie theater since January 2007. No for real, that's true. However, the money this film is making is incredible. See what happens when you include various identities into Hollywood?

3. Wrestlemania 34 Set - Yo, this deserved it's own "up" this week. That set was gorgeous. Easily one of my favorites. Kudos to the men and women who designed it, executed it, and built it. So, so pretty.

3 Down

1. YouTube Shooting - Why is our culture so filled with mass shootings? I don't get this shooting (nor any of them really), but we've reached a point where these shootings are viable options for those with disgruntled agendas. So sad and sickening.

2. Humboldt Hockey - This was such a horrific story to read this week. As someone who works in college athletics, students are constantly on buses and other travels. Such a tragedy is unspeakable and so very sad. Even more so when considering how tight and how passionate that small town is about hockey. Again, so, so sad.

3. Jimmy Kimmel and Sean Hannity - These two clowns went back and forth on Twitter in what is a perfect example of why it's easy to really dislike politics in this country at times. Such a clear example of identity politics for the sake of being on a "side".

Would You Rather: Questions 121-130

This edition of "Would You Rather" is credited to the NBA Would You Rather NBA Account on Instagram ( See Here ). Adding to the fun, this edition (and possibly future ones) are all NBA basketball questions.  121. Who would you rather have on your favorite NBA team - Giannis Antetokounpo or James Harden?  Seeing how I'm a lifelong suffering Knicks fan, the thought of any of these guys in blue and orange is hard to believe. With that said, I'm taking the Greek Freak for this reason - I enjoy watching him play a bit more. Nothing against Harden who is amazing as well, but at times, the ball sticks and that isn't always fun. Plus, I feel like we haven't yet seen a finished Giannis. 122. Would you rather have Giannis Antetokounpo with no driving ability or James Harden with no Three-Point shooting ability?  This is definitely a weird and unique one, but I'll take Harden. Giannis without his strength doesn't offer much. However, if Harden's d...

Quick Ponder: No Matter What

"You can give  everything to something, and no matter what, it is always gonna do what it's gonna do." I feel that these days. I get it.

The Pondering 10: 2026 NBA All-Star Weekend

Contrary to the discourse that always surrounds the NBA All-Star Weekend, I genuinely enjoyed the weekend, and even more so, the All-Star Game. No, for real. All love here.  Although the Dunk Contest really is on its last legs. That was tough to watch.  Nonetheless, I'm keeping it all good vibes on this one as a fan. Just a quick Pondering 10 on my favorite things from the 2026 NBA All-Star Weekend.  --- View this post on Instagram A post shared by New York Knicks šŸ€ (@nyknicks) 10. JB vs. KAT Moment Big Knicks homer moment here. If you frequent these parts, you already know that. Watching the Captain go at KAT brought a moment of joy for all of us in Knicks fandom. Neither one came away with anything. I'm just glad they're in perfect health as we head toward the second half of the season with the Playoffs looming.  9. VJ Edgecomb Wins Rising Stars MVP It's a tough admit for me. Because, I already enjoy Tyrese Maxey's game so much. Now, another ...
