Sunday Sundown Rundown - 8/12/18

3 Up

1. ROH/ NJPW & MSG - I know, that sub header reads like a crazy jumbling of acronyms, however, kudos to Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling who sold out Madison Square Garden this week. The first sold out show at MSG by a company other than the WWE. If this isn't evidence of the massive change within the wrestling business in 2018, I'm not sure what it is.

2. Ramon Laureano Throw - That throw was absolutely insane. Just insane. Right on the money.

3. Wayne Rooney - Speaking of insane plays, how about Wayne Rooney continuing to do Wayne Rooney things in MLS with this insane clutch play. The placement on that cross was just crazy.

3 Down

1. Unite the Right Rally - It's still insane to me how these types of rallies are still so common. Especially after Charlottesville last year. But yet, here we are. SMH.

2. Laura Ingraham - I don't even consider some of these talking heads on cable news legit anymore. What bothers me is not what they say, but the viewers who follow them and take the hyperbole comments as serious - on both sides - for and against. Damned be everything - racism and xenophobia included - in the name of ratings and party affiliation.

3. Omarosa - Yes, the President hired her and put her in a position we all know she shouldn't have been in. But even me, someone who is not a fan of this President, found her secretly taping the inner workings of the White House to be unethical. Especially now that she is going to profit from it.

Would You Rather: Questions 121-130

This edition of "Would You Rather" is credited to the NBA Would You Rather NBA Account on Instagram ( See Here ). Adding to the fun, this edition (and possibly future ones) are all NBA basketball questions.  121. Who would you rather have on your favorite NBA team - Giannis Antetokounpo or James Harden?  Seeing how I'm a lifelong suffering Knicks fan, the thought of any of these guys in blue and orange is hard to believe. With that said, I'm taking the Greek Freak for this reason - I enjoy watching him play a bit more. Nothing against Harden who is amazing as well, but at times, the ball sticks and that isn't always fun. Plus, I feel like we haven't yet seen a finished Giannis. 122. Would you rather have Giannis Antetokounpo with no driving ability or James Harden with no Three-Point shooting ability?  This is definitely a weird and unique one, but I'll take Harden. Giannis without his strength doesn't offer much. However, if Harden's d...

WWE SummerSlam 2026 Review: "Oba is made in the shade" & Roman vs. Seth Captures Magic

I can't say I was excited about SummerSlam heading into the event. Some storylines have moved me, but, much like pro wrestling in 2026, it feels like yet another incomplete creative vehicle (some good, some bad), with the hope that the event itself will overcome the shortcomings of the hype.  Admittedly, WWE could pull this off this weekend with some memorable moments (and outcomes), specifically from the two main title matches and from Oba Femi vs. Brock Lesnar. Maybe a return or two as well. Chances are, they likely will.  Personally, I have Penta vs. Chad Gable circled. I might be the only one, I know.  Nonetheless, happy SummerSlam weekend, everyone.  --- Random Tidbits Is it me, or were the overall vibes going into this year's SummerSlam just...well, off? I've already cited build, but there was just something else...ah well.  I know attendance is always a discussion point, but 30K+ is still pretty dam impressive for each night.  The stage was VERY impr...

Dome Pondering Movie Review: Good Posture (2019)

What is it about?  A young woman, stumped by laziness, unaccountability, and a lack of guidance, comes of age through an encounter with a closed-off writer.  Who is in it? Grace Van Patten - Lillian Emily Mortimer - Julia Price Favorite Scene: Julia runs into Nate and his new girlfriend.  Favorite Quote: "Lillian, desperate for affirmation, how deep does it go? Review: Good Posture was an impulse add to my "Watch List" on Amazon Prime, and I finally got around to watching.  The film is a mixed bag, ripe for a deep connection through so many opportunities, yet shallow in other areas of character development and plot. Don't get me wrong, Good Posture is a decent film; for the nerds, you'll get "Finding Forrester" vibes but not quite the same impact. Good Posture leaves it up to the imagination regarding the characters, and in some aspects, how they truly connect. There are a lot of subtleties that are unexplained (intentional or not) that do make you wond...
