Sunday Sundown Rundown - 2/24/19

1. Recording of Cop Playing w/ Girls - You know what's really crazy in the relationship of marginalized communities and police offers? The lack of understanding that other groups outside it regarding the fear and conflict that is historic and runs deeply through it. So when a story like this one comes around, it's awesome. There are so many good cops out there - unfortunately, we don't raise them up enough.

2. Sand Diego Padres - Sure, Manny Machado got his $300M. However, much props to the Padres on making a big splash...and oh yeah, there could be more in a possible Bryce Harper signing. That would be absolutely awesome. I'm hoping that happens. I really do.

3. Oscar History - I didn't watch the Oscars (eh). But kudos to those who made history tonight during the event. I didn't see Green Book (I guess, I'll check it out now?), but Black Panther and Blackkklansmen were indeed my favorite films of the year.

1. Samuel Joseph's Death - This destroyed my week. It really, really, really did. A local tragedy here in NYC - honestly, just mere blocks from where I live - of a 15 year old kid's life snuffed out for no reason. Maybe it's because I'm a father now, but this stuff hits me hard, and keeps me up at night.

2. Robert Kraft - SMH. It's very interesting how this is being perceived. Money and privilege go a loooooooooooooong way in our society. Why a late-seventies man worth billions of dollars needs to get caught up in this is mind numbing. And really, says plenty about his character.

3. Jussie Smollett - Dude, you're the worst. Seriously, the worst. And yes, I wanted to give one more down to him for this whole ordeal. Go away.

Would You Rather: Questions 121-130

This edition of "Would You Rather" is credited to the NBA Would You Rather NBA Account on Instagram ( See Here ). Adding to the fun, this edition (and possibly future ones) are all NBA basketball questions.  121. Who would you rather have on your favorite NBA team - Giannis Antetokounpo or James Harden?  Seeing how I'm a lifelong suffering Knicks fan, the thought of any of these guys in blue and orange is hard to believe. With that said, I'm taking the Greek Freak for this reason - I enjoy watching him play a bit more. Nothing against Harden who is amazing as well, but at times, the ball sticks and that isn't always fun. Plus, I feel like we haven't yet seen a finished Giannis. 122. Yankees Postseason 2026, ALDS vs. Rays

This is easily the most anticipated series (and most expected?) for the New York Yankees. The two best teams during the regular season were expected to clash to determine American League prominence.  And yes, I agree that this upcoming series says a lot about the broken playoff structure in MLB. Allow me to step onto my soapbox for a mere moment... Up we go... I've never been a fan of the expansion to six teams per league. I understand that it keeps more markets in the playoff picture come September, and it is more revenue for all (likely, the biggest reason for the expansion). Still, all it did was create a scenario where division winners were at a disadvantage, and what we're getting here is the two best teams in the league facing off in a five-game series.  Ultimately, the Tampa Bay Rays, the top seed in the American League, are given the second-best record in their first-round, in a best-of-five?  None of this makes sense.  Stepping off now... TNA Bound For Glory 2026 Review: "They say it's the biggest, so I guess it must be so, Right?"

It's the biggest TNA show of the year!  Or so they say. I've been fighting that moniker for years (hello: Slammiversary), but you know what, I think we're too far in. They say it's the biggest show, so I guess it must be so, right? That said, if this is the biggest show of the year, like Slammiversary, I definitely didn't "feel" the anticipation or aura around Bound For Glory. So many of the storylines and matches leading into this event felt rushed, or at best, incomplete. It's been a trend all year, honestly. And it's an interesting one considering the deletion (deletionnnnnnn - ahhhh!) of the TNA-plus specials.  We can push aside the Order 4 drama, as that has been the best thing going for TNA all year. That felt like the biggest match going into this event, and rightfully so.  Everything else felt like there just could have been more.  Ah well...
