Sunday Sundown Rundown - 1/7/24

1. Thirteen-Year-Old Defeats Tetris - Have you played Tetris?! If you have, you know how absolutely crazy this feat is. My guy BROKE THE GAME! He literally played Tetris getting line after line until the computer game froze. And he's thirteen. In the history of Tetris! Maybe I'm wayyyyyyy more excited about it than others, but this is awesome. 

2. Taylor Swift - Swift carries over her 2023 dominance into 2024 with a new record - 68 weeks on the Billboard 200 with a number-one hit single. The feat smashes Elvis' record. Swift rolls on. 

3. Rock Returns - Well, we are on the road to Wrestlemania, and potentially one of the biggest matches in the history of well...everything. The Rock returns and all roads lead to Rock vs. Roman Reigns to continue what has been a period of record-breaking business for the WWE.

1. Iowa Mass Shooting - Another new year, so of course, our country has a mass shooting. Another in a school - which doesn't even phase our consciousness anymore. My heart goes out to the sixth grader who perished and the family who must now bury this child. 

2. Epstein List - The Epstein list and documents being revealed are going to be interesting. I'm just not here for the casual jokes and use of the list. There are actual victims whose lives were destroyed - let's continue to be respectful and aware of that. 

3. Airline Travel - We've got planes exploding in Tokyo, and planes falling apart in the sky this week...what is going on?

1. Katt Williams - I definitely did not have Katt Williams roasting all of Hollywood Comedy on my early bingo list for 2024. I'm not sure how much of what he said I bought into, but surely, his interview with Shannon Sharpe was an interesting one. Katt definitely is an interesting dude. 

2. Trump on Ballot - We've got states literally now booting Trump off the ballot within the State. I'm not even sure what to say with Trump anymore. Yet, we're still in a space where he's a prime candidate...um, what?! 

3. Stanley Cups - All the rage of water bottles. SMH.

3 Up 1. Eva Ramon Gallegos Cure HPV - Could Cervical Cancer be a thing of the past? It very much looks like it as after twenty years of work, Gallegos has found a cure that completely eliminates the cancer. This is remarkable work, and it's pretty awesome to see the Mexican Medical community come together proudly in this achievement. 2. "This is America" Grammy - Finally!! Childish Gambino got some national love for the work he did on this great song, and even more so, on the overall art/video that was "This is America". Of course, he wasn't there to pick it up as the Grammys and their long standing issue with the hip-hop community continues... 3. Women at SOTU - Women continue to be bad ass in the current age. This edition of "Would You Rather" is credited to the NBA Would You Rather NBA Account on Instagram ( See Here ). Adding to the fun, this edition (and possibly future ones) are all NBA basketball questions.  121. Who would you rather have on your favorite NBA team - Giannis Antetokounpo or James Harden?  Seeing how I'm a lifelong suffering Knicks fan, the thought of any of these guys in blue and orange is hard to believe. With that said, I'm taking the Greek Freak for this reason - I enjoy watching him play a bit more. Nothing against Harden who is amazing as well, but at times, the ball sticks and that isn't always fun. Plus, I feel like we haven't yet seen a finished Giannis. 122. 3 Up 1. Eagles Defensive Live - I'm no football aficionado or even a huge fan - but what the Eagles front four on defense did was dominating.  1a. Philadelphia Eagles - Congratulations to Eagles fans and the city of Philadelphia on the Super Bowl win.  2. Kendrick Lamar - I'm sure it'll be controversial - we all knew it would be going in. Throwing my two cents into the arena of public opinion, I thoroughly enjoyed Kendrick's performance. I'm a fan, so that's easy. Tough night to be Drake though. Yikes!  3. Human-Like Teeth in Pigs - Science can be cool. But stories like this are absolutely amazing.  3 Down 1. Plan for Education? - Look, I'm all for cutting wasteful spending from the government.
