Sunday Sundown Rundown - 4/21/24

3 Up

1. Taylor Swift - Taylor does it again. Yeah...she just does it again. Another album. Just smashing records! I'm looking forward to listening to the album (and of course, adding to those mounting streams).

2. NBA/NHL Playoffs - It's Spring, and off the heels of March Madness is that peculiar time of the NBA and NHL playoffs. Thus far, both have been very enjoyable. Go Knicks!

3. Social Media "Grid Zero" - This was a VERY interesting read. The effects of social media are clear, and it is even more interesting to see how each generation are engaging with it going forward.

3 Down

1. War in Sudan - This week's "downs" are literally the World in disaster...

Please pray for the people of Sudan.

2. World Flooding - Areas such as Dubai, Afghanistan, and Pakistan experienced massive flooding this week. So much so that some areas received a year - A YEAR! - worth of rain in just twelve hours.

3. Southern Africa Drought - More pain. Droughts continue to hurt agriculture in Southern Africa which has now triggered concern for acute starvation in the region.

3 Interesting

1. Jontay Porter - Seriously, what is wrong with this dude? I've thought about this from so many angles...just why? Was it worth it?

2. Man Sets Himself on Fire - Speaking of "Why?", here is a doozy. We've reached a level of setting ourselves on fire for the Trump crusade. Unfortunately, this man eventually succumbed to the injuries sustained in this fire.

3. USC Cancels Valedictorian Speech - As we head down the stretch of the semester, it's very clear that college campuses and education centers will become a socio-political battleground for all things Gaza. Buckle up.

With that said, I think there had to be another solution other than canceling this student's speech, right? I've heard much worse in terms of political takes on commencement days...just saying.

Now That It's Over - Enjoyable and Pain All At Once

Welp, it's over.  Is it possible for something to be so enjoyable yet hurt so bad now that it's over?  That's the only way to describe the end of this New York Knicks season. Even after giving it a few days, ironically on the night that the NBA Finals begin - the Finals I thought we really could have gotten to - I still find myself reeling.  Everytime that damn clip of Haliburton's shot bouncing into the air and dropping in...bruh... But, I needed the time to gather my thoughts and feelings, reject the crazy hot takes and absurd opinions, and adjust to some of the immediate changes the Knicks made.  So here we go:  Immediate Thoughts This was easily! - my favorite Knicks season and team since 1998-1999. I know I said that last year, but this era of Knicks basketball has provided me with such luxury to move the goal posts and update these personal lists.  I genuinely loved this run despite its ending.  Jalen Brunson's shot in the Detroit Pistons series ...
