The First Car

There are many different types of relationships people have with objects of significance. Various objects with various descriptions often become a part of our lives whether for achievement, novelty, or symbolism. Automobiles are one of these objects. They are the desires of many, with critical attention to detail, usage, and maintenance by owners. With experience as the greatest tool, and the memories that come with many firsts, I have come to understand the relationship between a person and their automobile.

In the aftermath of parting ways with my first car, it is now that the significant ties have revealed themselves. Often, in situational firsts and initial endeavors, the emotional ties are drawn from the existence of a milestone in one's life. In this case, an automobile, represented freedom, responsibility, ownership, and another step further from childhood.

My first car symbolized a period of hard work, yet, is remembered for the good times that came along with it in the form of road trips, great stories, and even better conversation.

And even though the end produced various problems, and the upgrade in vehicles creates excitement, it is inevitable that every other automobile will be irrelevant. Because nothing will ever replace the first time you bought that car, and the first time you drove away in freedom.

With that said, I'm taking the Greek Freak for this reason - I enjoy watching him play a bit more. Nothing against Harden who is amazing as well, but at times, the ball sticks and that isn't always fun. Plus, I feel like we haven't yet seen a finished Giannis. 122. Would you rather have Giannis Antetokounpo with no driving ability or James Harden with no Three-Point shooting ability?  This is definitely a weird and unique one, but I'll take Harden. Giannis without his strength doesn't offer much. However, if Harden's d...

The Pondering 10 - Yankees All-Decade Team for 2010s

I thought I would stay away from the "all-decade" shenanigans, but I got suckered in after all. Around here, end of year rankings, reviews, and reflections rule, so why not compose a list that embodies it all? And why not put together a list around my beloved Yankees? Especially in a decade in which they DID NOT win the World Series. Gasp! With all of that said, please see below not only my list of the Yankees All-Decade Team (because everyone can filter by position), but also by importance and contribution throughout the decade.
