The Unity Road Writings - Lets Go!

67 days to go.

As the days continue to countdown until 9.24, the pressure begins to increase. However, not so much the type of pressure you might expect from someone getting married. No, I'm not getting "cold feet". No, I'm not having second guesses about this decision in my life. And no, I'm not worried about the future that lies before me and my soon-to-be wife.

Actually, I'm feeling quite the opposite. I'm excited about the next couple of weeks. I was excited about her having a Bridal Shower with her favorite ladies in Syracuse. I am excited about our upcoming "Shower #2" as we call it, which includes the men and women down here in Brooklyn. And of course, a party while we're getting together. I'm excited about our possible new apartment. I'm excited about having my boys at my side for the great day to come. I'm excited, period.
So no, the pressure doesn't come from what lies ahead. The pressure comes from finalizing what lies ahead.

With 67 days to do, the race against the clock now begins. So much to do, very little to time to do it.

However, I'm not saying anything that any event planner, or any that has gotten or been a part of a wedding doesn't know.

Yet, this pressure is the type that gave me that feeling in my stomach.

The butterfly-anxious-adrenaline type of pressure.

The type of feeling that affirms that things are getting real.

With 67 days to go, it is game time. Let's go!

With much of the planning out of the way, all of the visions, imagination, wishes, brainstorms, and most importantly, prayers, are now becoming tangible.

Groomsmen suits are on their way.

One last visit to Syracuse is coming up.

The bachelor party is being planned.

Apartment hunting is close to being over.

Bridal Shower #2 is coming up.

And oh yeah, the wedding is almost less than two months away.

So yes, the pressure is there. But, the Lord hasn't steered us wrong yet.

So, how can I not be excited about moving forward?

Would You Rather: Questions 121-130

This edition of "Would You Rather" is credited to the NBA Would You Rather NBA Account on Instagram ( See Here ). Adding to the fun, this edition (and possibly future ones) are all NBA basketball questions.  121. Who would you rather have on your favorite NBA team - Giannis Antetokounpo or James Harden?  Seeing how I'm a lifelong suffering Knicks fan, the thought of any of these guys in blue and orange is hard to believe. With that said, I'm taking the Greek Freak for this reason - I enjoy watching him play a bit more. Nothing against Harden who is amazing as well, but at times, the ball sticks and that isn't always fun. Plus, I feel like we haven't yet seen a finished Giannis. 122. Would you rather have Giannis Antetokounpo with no driving ability or James Harden with no Three-Point shooting ability?  This is definitely a weird and unique one, but I'll take Harden. Giannis without his strength doesn't offer much. However, if Harden's d...

Thoughts on TNA on AMC Debut: "Yup, TNA is back. It is so back."

TNA is back.  And I know that because it is heavily under scrutiny by the internet. But that criticism comes with being back on a major platform like the AMC Network, and of course, taking the next step after a super successful 2025.  So, what did I think?  The show was...ummmm okay, at best. Some of the challenges the company faced heading into this weekend were well documented among the rumor mill, which didn't bode well for the company. In balancing reported visa issues with talent, pivoting after losing core talent to free agency, and attempting to build and manage talent workload with a premium live event on Saturday, TNA found themselves in the usual TNA stuff. The most peculiar - and strangest - of situations to be in going into a big network premiere. This company, man! All in all, again, the show was okay. It had its flaws. It had some cool moments. It didn't live up to the hype (or the expectations we each had for such a premiere). But it's one show. TNA has put...

Sunday Sundown Rundown - 8/27/17

3 Up 1. MLB Players Weekend - The (insane) traditionalists had a problem with it, but the weekend produced plenty of fun games and moments, and gave fans and players a really cool weekend to be themselves and enjoy the game. I have a ton of stuff to share in the next Dope Sports Threads. Overall, can't wait for the next one... 2. MTV VMA's - Look, there were moments I had no idea what was going on, and I thought Katy Perry was incredibly awkward as the host. However, the moments that promoted fights against hate and empowered people to be themselves were awesome. Especially, Pink's speech - such good stuff. The VMA's still have plenty of work to do though under their new management. 3. Giancarlo Stanton - I think he just hit another home run. The guy has 50(!) and we're not into September, yet. Can he hit 63? Should be interesting going forward if he can stay hot.  3 Down 1. Hurricane Harvey - The devastation and flooding going on in South Texas...
