Sunday Sundown Rundown - 6/29/14

3 Up

Amy Adams - Kudos to Amy Adams on giving up her first class seat and offering it to a solider returning home. It's unfortunate we can't do more for our troops returning home, but Adams showed that even the smallest of gestures can go a long way.

NBA - It's been a week of good deeds, and what's there not to love about this story? After Isiah Austin had his dream ripped away from him due to Marfan syndrome, the NBA decided to draft Austin during the NBA draft. With his family in attendance, Adam Silver still called Austin's name and gave the kid the moment he deserved.

NYC TNA Wrestling Tapings - As you can see from the posts this week, yours truly attended the TNA Tapings on Wednesday and Thursday nights here in NYC. Such an awesome time, and Thursday was one of, if not the best wrestling event I've ever been to.

3 Down

Immigration Situation - The ongoing situation at the South Texas border has become a huge issue with parents from other countries now sending - yes, SENDING - their children across the border for a better life. It has goten so bad, the President is now seeking $2 billion in funds to help deport individuals quicker and to protect the border.

North Korea Indicting Americans - If North Korea couldn't be evil enough, the country has detained and are now indicting two immigrants on charges of, "hostile acts against the country". One individual is reportedly being indicted for being in possession of a Bible and another for very sketchy reasons. When it comes to North Korea and Kim Jong Un, you know it has to be pretty bad.

Jason Kidd - Has there been a franchise legend who has ruined his reputation with that organization as many times and in the damaging ways Jason Kidd with the the Nets? The story of him looking to get a position of basketball operation is baffling, and a bit head scratching.

Now That It's Over - Enjoyable and Pain All At Once

Welp, it's over.  Is it possible for something to be so enjoyable yet hurt so bad now that it's over?  That's the only way to describe the end of this New York Knicks season. Even after giving it a few days, ironically on the night that the NBA Finals begin - the Finals I thought we really could have gotten to - I still find myself reeling.  Everytime that damn clip of Haliburton's shot bouncing into the air and dropping in...bruh... But, I needed the time to gather my thoughts and feelings, reject the crazy hot takes and absurd opinions, and adjust to some of the immediate changes the Knicks made.  So here we go:  Immediate Thoughts This was easily! - my favorite Knicks season and team since 1998-1999. I know I said that last year, but this era of Knicks basketball has provided me with such luxury to move the goal posts and update these personal lists.  I genuinely loved this run despite its ending.  Jalen Brunson's shot in the Detroit Pistons series ...
