Sunday Sundown Rundown - 2/20/22

3 Up

1. Adonis Lattimore - Winning a state championship in any sport is difficult. How about winning a state championship in wrestling? Oh! And how about doing so with no legs?! Yeah, that happened. The story of Adonis Lattimore is tremendous - I really can't give it justice. Please seek it out and of course, check out the video of him competing. I love these stories to remind us of the power of the human spirit.

2. NBA All-Star Weekend - Yeah, that dunk contest was bad (but hey, kudos to the sole representative of my Knicks, Obi Toppin, on the win - go figure). However, the NBA put on a super entertaining weekend highlighted by the NBA 75 Players ceremony. And oh yeah! -  there was everything that was Steph Curry doing unreal things in shooting a basketball during the All-Star Game.

BTW - Yes, I'm all about that MJ and Lebron photo - the GOATS, man!!! Can we stop pitting them against each other in stupid debates and just appreciate them both? Especially, LeBron who doesn't have many years left.

3. Teen EMTs in Sacketts Harbor, NY - These teens saw a shortage of EMTs in their area following the height of COVID and became EMTs to help their town. Such a badass move by these individuals. Selfless. Amazing. Inspiring.

3 Down

1. Ukraine/Russia - So yah, this situation isn't looking too good. Actually, EVERYTHING about this developing situation doesn't look too good.

2. Kamilia Valieva's Camp - Nothing much to say here - this 15-year-old gets the "down" for doping - BUT she still was given the opportunity to compete for a medal. While Valieva is surely old enough to know she did wrong here, I'm putting the blame on the adults around here - they should know better.

2A. International Olympic Committee - They let her skate - with complete eligibility for a medal. Shame on the IOC.

3. COVID Canda Protests - Remember when we thought our neighbors to the North were to be envied? I'm moving to Canada! As of late, Canada is a country in turmoil surrounding COVID mandates. When some of the names from our media (ahem FOX New pundits) begin showing support, you know everything has gone crazy.

1 Bad Judgement

1. Juwan Howard & Greg Gard - After watching the video from their incident, I'm appalled at the two head coaches and their staff who ignited this ugly situation. They should know better. They are the adults in the room at that point. Just a bad job. Such a terrible look.

Would You Rather: Questions 121-130

This edition of "Would You Rather" is credited to the NBA Would You Rather NBA Account on Instagram ( See Here ). Adding to the fun, this edition (and possibly future ones) are all NBA basketball questions.  121. Who would you rather have on your favorite NBA team - Giannis Antetokounpo or James Harden?  Seeing how I'm a lifelong suffering Knicks fan, the thought of any of these guys in blue and orange is hard to believe. With that said, I'm taking the Greek Freak for this reason - I enjoy watching him play a bit more. Nothing against Harden who is amazing as well, but at times, the ball sticks and that isn't always fun. Plus, I feel like we haven't yet seen a finished Giannis. 122. Would you rather have Giannis Antetokounpo with no driving ability or James Harden with no Three-Point shooting ability?  This is definitely a weird and unique one, but I'll take Harden. Giannis without his strength doesn't offer much. However, if Harden's d...

Dome Pondering Move Review: Say You Will (2017)

What is it about? A recent high school graduate cares for his mother while attempting to navigate his first relationship following his father's suicide.  Who is in it? Travis Tope - Sam Nimitz Katherine Hughes - Ellie Vaughn Favorite Scene: [spoiler alert] Sam plays his song for his mom. Favorite Quote: Ellie: "I wish we could have met down the road, maybe when we were like 27." Sam: "I think we needed each other now." Review:  Say You Will was an absolutely pleasant surprise of a watch from the Amazon Prime offerings.  I wasn't exactly sure what to expect with this one, but after the credits rolled, it was a movie that provided authentic characters and a great lesson on life. We don't always have to have everything figured out, and it's okay if you don't.  What makes Say You Will so beautiful is that all of the characters are carrying some inner struggle that connects them in the moment and time that helps them through whatever it is. The unlike...

Knicks Postseason 2026, 2nd Round vs. Philadelphia 76ers

Well, it's the Sixers in Round 2.  Review Thoughts from Round 1 The Celtics messed around and found out. And now, we have the red-hot Sixers in a very intriguing second-round matchup. Before even diving into the series, I immediately think about that 2023-2024 1st Round match-up that I often refer to as the series that took years off of my life.  Then again, there was Divo's shot that will forever bring a smile . There is also this dunk from OG Anunoby on Embiid (certified, real Garden villain): The 76ers are super talented on paper. And they have an incredibly high ceiling if healthy and playing together. The Celtics just found that out. That is my biggest fear for this round! When I boil all the stats, actions, sets, and the simple eye-test assessment down to a simple thing, what's left is this: can the Knicks stop contain Tyrese Maxey? Can the 76ers defend a Karl-Anthony Towns pick-and-roll (or pick-and-pop)? That's it.  My Key Matchup: Karl-Anthony Towns vs. Joel ...
