Sunday Sundown Rundown - 5/7/23

3 Up

1. Rock and Roll Inductees - Congrats to a few more names who made their way into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this week. The Hall continues to its direction of some unorthodox inductees (is Rock and Roll dead?), but regardless of that debate, you can't deny the quality of artists getting the nod.

2. Bad Bunny - Yo, this dude had concerts, made appearances, participated in the Met Gala, and then on Saturday night performed at WWE's Backlash in his hometown of Puerto Rico in what was an absolute banger. Bad Bunny is immensely talented. Also happy to see him break through so many barriers as a non-English singing artist.

3. NBA on TNT - It's already public knowledge, but giving this crew some love again, especially during the playoffs. They remain the absolute pinnacle of in-studio sports television. The complete opposite of the trainwreck that is ESPN's coverage.

3 Down

1. Dallas Mall Shooting - We're so desensitized. All of it, is so immensely heartbreaking. WHY?!

2. Jordan Neely - Whatever your thoughts are on Neely and his death on an NYC train, it's hard for me to understand how we've gotten to a place where the death of a human being is politicized for morality.

We're absolutely lost as a society in some measures.

3. Nursing Shortage - This is scary. It's a trend that has actually been going on BEFORE COVID and continues to accelerate. We see this in other areas such as teachers and police enforcement.

3 Interesting

1. King's Coronation - No need to reiterate this - but I find no relevancy in this stuff. I'm genuinely shocked at those who do.

2. Artificial Intelligence - It's absolutely scary what we're seeing in this field. To the point of President Biden gathered some of Big Tech's most powerful people to confront them. I recently watched a student of mine write a 10-page paper in 45 minutes...and yes, she didn't necessarily learn much.

3. Writer's Strike - I'm with the writers. They make so much of these shows go.

Would You Rather: Questions 121-130

This edition of "Would You Rather" is credited to the NBA Would You Rather NBA Account on Instagram ( See Here ). Adding to the fun, this edition (and possibly future ones) are all NBA basketball questions.  121. Who would you rather have on your favorite NBA team - Giannis Antetokounpo or James Harden?  Seeing how I'm a lifelong suffering Knicks fan, the thought of any of these guys in blue and orange is hard to believe. With that said, I'm taking the Greek Freak for this reason - I enjoy watching him play a bit more. Nothing against Harden who is amazing as well, but at times, the ball sticks and that isn't always fun. Plus, I feel like we haven't yet seen a finished Giannis. 122. Would you rather have Giannis Antetokounpo with no driving ability or James Harden with no Three-Point shooting ability?  This is definitely a weird and unique one, but I'll take Harden. Giannis without his strength doesn't offer much. However, if Harden's d...

They end up building a house in the middle of the woods and live off the land for one week during summer vacation.  Who is in it?  Nick Robinson - Joe Gabriel Basso - Patrick Moises Arias - Biaggio Nick Offerman - Frank

The Pondering 10 - Favorite Knicks Head Coaches

I'm still on a championship high (probably until Banner night in October to be honest), so I'm dropping more Pondering 10s as my brain (and heart) works through all of the emotions and reflection from my beloved New York Knicks - 2025-2026 NBA Champions!  Let's talk coaches.  We've been through so many. My fellow Knicks fans, we've seen so many coaches walk the sidelines of Madison Square Garden, and the recent championship is so amazing to think about - Mike Brown, one year, title.  With that said, here is a list of my favorite Knicks Coaches (in my lifetime, so no Red Holtzman). It's tougher than you think, but we're doing it.  To begin, here are those banned from this list. On the sheer qualifier that these coaches - by fault of their own, or maybe not - will always resonate with disdain and the lowest of the lows.  Derek Fisher Oh, the Phil Jackson era. When we were given a coach who had never done so before, implementing the triangle offense was more im...
