Sunday Sundown Rundown - 9/8/24

3 Up

1. Jennifer Carter (and all Teachers) - Carter's story is an amazing testimony of strength, poise, and emotional control. Our teachers have a hard enough job - and we place this kind of responsibility on their shoulders every day. Pay them more. Respect them. God Bless them.

2. Preeta Pal - In a week of heartbreak that makes the world feel like a crushing vice, we get stories like Pal that inspire you and unveil the strength of the human spirit.

3. Alex Morgan - Morgan, a hero to a generation of women soccer players, will be hanging it up soon. Legend.

3 Down

1. Georgia School Shooting - Smh. Another one. Because we can't figure out how to stop this. Smh.

2. Rebecca Cheptegei - What a horrific story this is. Such a talented athlete, killed senselessly.

3. 11-Year-Old Murderer - I have no words to explain or describe my thoughts on this. Especially, following another school shooting this week. Who are we raising? Like, seriously?

Human Spirit - People who opened their homes to others. Businesses that provided free services and assistance. The outpouring of donations and so much more. People can be awesome at times.  3. Medical Debt - This seems like a pretty big deal, no?! Why should your health and the needs for your care affect your credit score?  3 Down 1. California Wildfires - Awful. There's not much you can place into words here that would capture so many people losing their homes, their lives, and everything. 2. Politicized Wildfires - As much as the human spirit took center stage, of course, we gotta make things political in this nation. Because, you know, there's an opportunity to do so.  3.
