Sunday Sundown Rundown - 4/28/19

3 Up 1. Malaria Vaccine - For the first time ever, the world will see a vaccine for Malaria and it will go to 360,000 African children. Malawi, Kenya, and Ghana will be the first nations to administer the new vaccine to children under the age of two, helping to save many, many, many lives along with it. This is pretty cool, and is exciting to see areas around the world in need of healthcare get first dibs on much needed vaccines and care. 2. Avengers End Game - I am insanely behind on everything - Avengers, Captain Marvel, all of it. So yeah, watching End Game won't happen for me for awhile. However, getting the "Up" this week is the film for raking in an INSANE $1.2 Billion of box office money in the first weekend of its release. That's just stupid insane. So incredibly insane. 3. Damian Lillard's Series Ending Shot - The OKC vs. Blazers first round match-up was something beautiful. It simply reminded me of that old-school 90's NBA with players that

3 Up 1. Easter - He. Is. Risen! 2. Bernie Fox Town Hall - I'm not a big Bernie guy. However, much props to Sanders who did a Fox News town hall on not only held his own, but actually got some interesting crowd responses. IN this crazy political culture, it would be nice to see some "cross-examination" - so-to-speak, so we can get some real discussion on serious issues. 3. BTS YouTube Record - I've never heard of this group until this story caught my attention this week. But apparently, K-Pop is real, and BTS' video release set a new YouTube record with most views over a 24 hour span (76 million!!). 3 Down 1. Sri Lanka Bombings - This story is so incredibly sad. Over 200 people killed. On Easter Sunday. The world does some horrific things, and this is an example of that. 2. Denver School Closings - I will NEVER forget the Colombine High School Shooting. In middle school, I was home sick, and watched the entire thing unfold on my TV, frightened at suc

Sunday Sundown Rundown - 4/15/19

3 Up 1. Kyle Korver's Note - Korver earned himself a spot at the cookout this week with his note on the Player Tribune. Seriously speaking, I loved everything about Korver's piece. It's not everyday you get the all-too-important perspective from the white male acknowledging their privilege and need to active as an ally. 2. Tiger Woods Master's Win - I caught the very last moments of it in my office with a few co-workers as we wrapped up Accepted Students Weekend. I'm not a big golf fan, but I understand Tiger's significance, and yes, it makes for a tremendous redemption story. I'm always in for that. 3. Game of Thrones - I have never seen a GoT episode. Nor am I really into it. But you know what? Kudos to Game of Thrones for providing a product that has engulfed so many. Maybe one day I'll give it a watch. Maybe... 3 Down 1. Louisiana Church Fires - So we're still burning down historically black churches in this country, huh? SMH. 2.

Sunday Sundown Rundown - 4/7/19

3 Up 1. Wrestlemania - I still love Wrestlemania and everything that encompasses the weekend of the biggest wrestling show of the year. Unfortunately, with a little one now, I couldn't attend the event(s) here in NYC. But all of the shows - WWE related or not - over the weekend were fantastic. It wasn't a Wrestlemania I looked forward to going in, but it definitely paid off. 1A - Wrestlemania Diversity - It took awhile, but it was pretty cool to have the women main event 'Mania. Also, so much kudos to the WWE on the storyline regarding their past of black wrestlers, and using it to sky rocket Kofi Kingston. They never once mentioned race in the build up, but everyone knew what this was about. Awesome, awesome moment. 2. Spring Weather - 60 degrees temps here in NYC are becoming a normal thing! I drove around yesterday with the windows down! Yes! Yes! As always, I'm over winter. 3. Russell Westbrook - First of all, Westbrook's 20-20-20 game (for Nipsey, of
