Trading Porzingis - Moving Hope For Dreams

Here we go - the Knicks doing Knicks things to Knicks fans in in only the way the Knicks can. I was at work when a twenty-two year old colleague of mine, who is typically quiet and reserved erupted in how I'm sure we all did when we heard the news. Throwing his keys against his desk and leaning back in his chair, he said, "You've GOT to be kidding me?" Shortly thereafter, the immediate emotions and thoughts he showed were easily the same among Knicks fans everywhere. Here we go again.

Sunday Sundown Rundown - 1/27/19

3 Up 1. CO Senator Michael Bennet - There was something raw and authentic about Senator Bennet's comments this past week toward (of all people) Senator Ted Cruz. Much of what he had to say was not only heartfelt and real - something often missing in politics - but it was unbelievably true to the core. I really loved that clip. 2. Government Re-Opens - The government is back in business! Yay! I'm just happy for the thousands of government workers, and the many, many, many, many more who indirectly work with or earn a living through the aiding the government. There really were some awful stories out there. 3. James Harden - Dude is ballin'. It's not the best basketball (to be honest), but what he is doing is utterly ridiculous in terms of stat compiling. It's downright videogame-like. 3 Down 1. Washington DC Gov't Shutdown Remarks - The remarks we heard from many (who obviously have no clue) regarding government employees getting loans, enduring the &

Thoughts on the 2019 Baseball Hall of Fame Ballot

Unanimous. Unani-freaking-mous! I have to admit, I really - really - thought there would be one person to want, more liked need, to make a "statement" by NOT voting for Rivera on the 2019 Hall of Fame ballot. But that didn't happen. And because it didn't, we finally have our first 100% induction in Mariano Rivera. My guy, Mariano Rivera! To say that I am thrilled is an understatement. After all, Rivera is my favorite athlete of all-time. But even more so is that it is happening to a great guy, and a super-deserving talent. We can finally put this issue of unanimous vote-getters to bed. You know the argument? The idea that [enter player name here] from the past did not receive 100%, so no one else should, is a ridiculous concept that ought to be tossed in the bin of other stupidity right next to baseball's unwritten rules.

Sunday Sundown Rundown - 1/21/19

3 Up 1.Katelyn Ohashi - Her performance went viral this week, and as many have already stated, it's impossible to watch Ohashi's performance and NOT feel happy. Just awesome, awesome stuff. Plus, she is insanely talented! 2. Nathan Phillips - So much props to Phillips who earned plenty of respect for his poise and patience when facing the group of MAGA students attempting to intimidate, annoy, and shame him. Phillips' integrity came through even more after having the floor to share his opinion on what happened - never outright throwing shade at the students. The dude has plenty of character. 3. MLK Weekend - Dr. King is a such a hero of mine. I'm always in awe of this weekend, of his life, of his thoughts, of his words, of his character, and even so on the contrary, how often his words, missions, and ideals are misconstrued today. 3 Down 1. MAGA Teenagers - This video wraps up white privilege in the United States. By the way, it's also amazing how lit

Harper, Machado, and...Moustakas? - Someone Sign Em' All!

As we await the breaking news of what team Bryce Harper and Manny Machado (or Machado and Harper, however you have them ranked) will sign with, let's ponder my crazy thought and wish, if you will, for the current MLB off-season. No, this is not a campaign for my Yankees to sign one of them. And for the record, Yankees fans need to chill - the moves made this off-season have been awesome. And no, let's not talk labor discussions. Its very obvious front offices have possibly learned from the mistakes of the past on long-term deals for huge amounts of money. Though, it only takes one owner with radical thinking to put a wrinkle into it all (my wish includes this very GM!). I'm talking something that is not necessarily unprecedented, but an occurrence that possible could give MLB the national attention it hasn't gotten in a long time, and really, placing the game of baseball on the front burner of main stream appeal.

Sunday Sundown Rundown - 1/13/19

3 Up 1. Bus Driver Saves Child - The video was amazing and the reality of it all is absolutely horrifying. Regardless, so much props to Irena Ivic who pulled over her bus to pick up a child who was running around barefoot in the freezing cold. Also, much props to the bus passengers who offered their coats and support until authorities arrived. Def watch this video. There is faith left in humanity. 2. First NFL Referee - Sarah Thomas became the first woman in the NFL to officiate a playoff game in the league today. That's pretty damn awesome. Hooray diversity and inclusion! 3. James Harden - This dude has been absolutely ballin'! Say what you want about Harden and his propensity to get away with traveling (because he does), but his step back will go down in history as one of those signature moves forever being duplicated. 3 Down 1. Natalie Carona - A tremendously tragic story. So incredibly tragic. My heart goes out to her family and loved ones, and of course, the

Dome Pondering Movie Review: The Incredibles 2 (2018)

What is it about? The Parr family returns to take on a new mission which involves a change in family roles as well as a new villain. Who is in it? Craig T. Nelson - Bob Parr/Mr. Incredible Holly Hunter - Helen Parr/Elastagirl Sarah Powell - Violet Parr Favorite Scene: After trying to contain Jack-Jack, his constant battle with a backyard rodent opens up the family to the multitude of powers that he possesses, or even, can develop. Favorite Quote: "If you wanna get out of the hole, first you gotta put down the shovel." Review: Like many, I LOVED the original Incredibles film. And yes, I too was annoyed whenever a sequel wasn't announced. After all, there were many franchises that debuted, got a sequel, and even moved straight to release on their third installment before our lovable heroic family got their turn! But I digress... Nonetheless, it finally arrived. And if I'm being honest, The Incredibles 2 was good. It just wasn't what I wa

Sunday Sundown Rundown - 1/6/18

3 Up 1. New Year - It's 2019! The last year of the teens in this century! Wishing all of you a Happy New Year! 2. NY State Changing Tables - It's a new year, and New York State are making some big moves in adding changing tables into ALL bathrooms. As a Dad now, I'm all for this. And yes, I've been there in the disappointment of not having one. 3. Bird Box - I haven't seen it yet. But it is incredible how the Netflix film has taken off. The holidays will definitely do that. I'm pretty sure the week between Christmas and New Years will now be a big release period for streaming services. I know I burned through a few movies... 3 Down 1. Jazmine Barnes - So incredibly sad. The entire story - so absolutely senseless. 2. Government Shutdown - The holidays were a good break from politics and the nonsense that surrounds Washington these days. But now, it's back to reality and we have a shutdown because our President won't get his way. But what is
