Sunday Sundown Rundown - 3/27/16

3 Up 1. Easter - He IS Risen! Happy Easter to all of you, your families, and your loved ones.  2. Teacher's Photo - In a world where terrorism is on the front burner, whether good, like this story of a top ISIS commander being killed , or all of the horrifying attacks this week, it's a photo like this from a teacher in Mississippi which reminds us that hate is often taught. 3. Syracuse Basketball - Having both the women's and men's teams in the Final Four is very, very impressive. Especially, the way in which both teams are doing it with grit, and a bit of drama. Kudos to the student-athletes, the school, and of course, the Central New York area.  3 Down 1. Terrorism - From Brussells, Iraq, and the bombing in Pakistan on this Easter Sunday, I am so sick of this nonsense. The part that really sends me over is that fact that these terrorists scum are just blowing themselves up to take out as many as they can. Ugh...My prayers go out to the victims a...

Sunday Sundown Rundown - 3/20/16

3 Up 1. Cuba Visit - For the first time in 88 years, a U.S. President has visited Cuba. As relations begin to thaw between the two nations, it's nice to see history made as the official mending of the fences begins.  2. Paris Attacker Caught - This clown has been on the run for too long. It's sad to see that it took this long, but regardless, it's nice to see this scumbag captured, and hopefully, brought to justice very soon.  3. Basketball - March Madness has been absolutely tremendous. Also, the NBA was on full display last night in that epic Warriors vs. Spurs showdown. Whether it's college basketball or the pros, basketball is absolutely so much fun right now. Yay, roundball!  3 Down 1. Donald Trump Riots - Without getting too political, the protests and riots that are coming out of Donald Trump's campaigns are very unfortunate. One, for the fact that this is part of a Presidential race, and also, for the idea that it has become the norm. Ju...

Triple H's Intriguing Run to Wrestlemania 32

I wasn't at all thrilled the night that Triple H won the Royal Rumble to become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. The thought, at the time, of Triple H being in the main event was not one that I was interested in at all. Especially, if it were Triple H vs. Roman Reigns. I actually loathed the idea if I'm being completely honest.  Well, here we are, a couple of weeks out from Wrestlemania, and it is in fact Triple H vs. Roman Reigns at the top of the bill. However, now, I'm not only very intrigued by the match up, it's actually one of the better matches on the still-in-progress card. I tip my cap to you, Vince.  And really, that reason is in fact Triple H's return to the ring. Look, we all know the reputation - the one that is amped up on the internet - like most other things when it comes to pro wrestling along with hardcore wrestling fans who believe they know more than they really do - it carries accusations and memes about him putting himself...

Pondering Picture #65

Drew Hallowell/Getty Images Tonight my Knicks play the Golden State Warriors. Annnnnnnnnnd the 2009 NBA Draft comes flooding back to me like a nightmare... I hate my relationship with the New York Knicks.

March Madness 2016 - The Official DP Bracket

For the first time in a really long time I find myself genuinely excited for March Madness. I'm not sure if it's the lopsided and top-heavy NBA regular-season, the fact that the 30 second shot clock has made college basketball much more enjoyable, or that my New York Knicks are again looking for help - actually, who am I kidding? - the Knicks are always in need of help.  Regardless, I've watched a tremendous amount of college basketball this season, especially plenty of late nights doing work alongside PAC-12 games. It's just been that type of year. I even went to the Big East tournament! Yup!

Sunday Sundown Rundown - 3/13/16

3 Up 1. Homeless Man Resume - I came across this story and instantly knew it was this week's top "Up" spot. You just have to love a story of second chances. A homeless man creating resumes; a person giving him a shot; and ultimately him, beginning his redemption story. Great stuff.  2. Erin Andrews - I can't imagine having to go through what she did this week, or even over the last few years. This is a sick world with some awfully sick individuals in it who feel no remorse in violating other individuals. Forget the money, Andrews taking the stand was pure guts, and I admire her courage in doing so.  3. Bryce Harper - Thank you, sir! Baseball needs a wake up call on the tired "unwritten rules". I shared my thoughts this week on this ( Baseball's Unwritten Rules - Harper Nailed It ), but baseball needs one of it's big time young stars to send this message. Kudos to Harper for being honest. 3 Down 1. Terrorist Attacks - I hate th...

Baseball's Unwritten Rules - Harper Nailed It

Bryce Harper nailed it.  Read more here: http://www.kansascity.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/for-petes-sake/article65184292.html#storylink=cpy "Baseball’s tired. It’s a tired sport, because you can’t express yourself."                                                                                                   - Bryce Harper I've been pounding the "baseball needs to evolve" pavement for years now. The sport, well before it's recent moment of clarity under new commissioner, Rob Manfred, needed to come out of the dark ages on this nonsense dictated by it's unwritten rules. Rules which are utterly ridiculous and yet, held as high law within the sport, making some of the most skilled athletes in all of professional sports...

Dome Pondering Movie Review: Spectre (2015)

What is it about? Bond finds himself in a position where he must uncover the depth of the Spectre terrorist organization while M battles political forces to keep the Double-Zero agent service alive. Who is in it? Daniel Craig - James Bond Christoph Waltz - Bloefeld Lea Seydoux - Medeleine

Sunday Sundown Rundown - 3/6/16

3 Up 1. UFC 196 - What a double main event! I'm pretty sure that Dana White lost lots of money when it came to the endings of both fights, but the fights themselves, and the shocking endings were very, very entertaining. Probably the best double main event I've ever seen in MMA.  2. Norma - This story is fantastic. A 90 year old woman named Norma who has been recently diagnosed with cancer, decided to skip treatment to take a long road trip across the United States. There is so much to learn from in this story, which makes it all the more awesome.  3. Peyton Manning Retirement - It's just felt right at this time. It's always terrible watching a great athlete struggle in the latter years of his career. But the fact that Peyton won the big one on his way out, and is leaving on that note, is a nice bow on the end.  3 Down 1. Presidential Race- I'm not sure what it is, but the Presidential race on both sides have gotten to the point where I am exha...
