Dome Pondering Movie Review: Demolition (2015)

What is it about?

After the death of his wife, a man comes to the realization of breaking down his life, the lies that supported it, and reclaiming his true happiness through the help of a customer service rep and her son.

Who is in it?

Jake Gyllenhaal - Davis

Naomi Watts - Karen

Favorite Scene:

After realizing he enjoys taking things apart and/or destroying them, Davis offers money to a set of construction workers to let him help them demolish a building.

Favorite Quote:

"Customer service is a profession?"

Review:

Demolition was definitely a surprise. The film is one that isn't for everyone and really, you sort of need a certain twist to truly enjoy and appreciate the message being sent throughout the film. At first it really seems awkward, but by the end of the film, Demolition leaves you with a very profound life lesson.

Of course, all of this is behind the awesome performance of Jake Gyllenhaal who has become one of my favorite acting talents. The dude was absolutely fantastic in this film in the role of "Davis".

All in all, if you want to watch an interesting movie about living truthfully - honestly, then this is your film. Give it a whirl, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

TNA Slammiversary 2025 Review: "One of the best TNA shows that I've ever attended"

One of the best TNA shows that I've ever attended.  That has been the bottom line regarding my immediate my thoughts on TNA Slammiversary 2025 since it my son and I walked away from UBS Arena. I attended the - the - record-breaking show for the company this past weekend in Long Island, NY, and it brought back so many feelings that I had for this company in the past, as well as created new ones in the process.  I've been fortunate enough to attend many TNA shows throughout the company's existence, including all the turbulent years. From barns, small theaters, convention halls, and historic, but smaller, venues like the Manhattan Center, there was a very surreal aura about sitting in an area for a TNA show.  In the words of Real1 (who made an appearance on the Countdown to Slammiversary)... Well, well, well...whatta we got here!  For this long-time fan, the aura and environment were pretty cool. Being part of a record-breaking night was pretty cool. Sharing that momen...

Thoughts on 'One Big Beautiful Bill' Act

Going into July 4th, a day that is meant to celebrate our nation, or at the very least, help us reflect on our relationship to and with it, we get the inevitable passing of the "Big Beautiful Bill Act".  Everyone has thoughts. Many have strong feelings. Few seem to be in favor of the bill.  But here we are.  Just a few quick thoughts and ponderings on the latest big move under the President Trump administration:  There doesn't seem to be much feedback out there that champions this bill. I know we're very divided, and those who align themselves unconditionally with the President will find a way, but the few experts in economics (and many Republicans themselves) aren't crazy about it. That in itself gives me angst.  Weren't we JUST exercising massive cuts, layoffs, and decisions to balance Federal spending?  Now we're adding to it? More tax breaks for the rich continue to be a current trend that...well, doesn't feel like it works.  200K-550K household in...
