Sunday Sundown Rundown - 6/16/13

3 Up

1. Health - Sometimes we take it for granted. For someone who lost it for the last three weeks, getting better and appreciating it tops the list this week.

2. Danny Green - My goodness. It's pretty hard not to be a fan of the play of Danny Green in the NBA Finals. Especially, of his storied career path to this point.

3. Jay-Z - Well, he's done it again. Just when you thought Jay-Z couldn't bring something new, he drums up attention, hype, and excitement about his new album set to release in two weeks. I can honestly say, now that he's separated himself from Kanye, I'm excited about this album.

3 Down

1. Lil Wayne - Walking all over Stars and Stripes is disrespectful. Especially, to a nation that has given him everything he currently has. I don't care if it was "just a video." Sometimes, I worry about the next generation and their ideals.

2. Kanye West - The comments about being the "Michael Jordan of music" and the sudden retracted apology for the TaylorSwift-VMA's situation is the perfect example of the heightened arrogance in which Kanye has reached. Also, not promoting an album and simply releasing it because you think you are that great is just another example of this.

3. Beauty Pageants - It's easy to spotlight Miss Utah here for her blunder of a response that has gone viral, but how can we not look at Beauty Pageants? In a world where misogynistic views are being sifted through in hopes for better equality, we still are throwing women on stage in dresses and swim wear to decide who looks the best? Seems a bit hypocritical.

TNA Slammiversary 2026: "A great show that felt like it could have been epic with the proper buildup."

TNA certainly came into Slammiversary 2026 carrying some public relations (or perception?) baggage which affected the excitement for this event. For me, Slammiversary has become one of those wrestling events on the calendar that moves the needle for me. This is especially the case after attending last year's historic event.   This year, the hype was not there. And ultimately, the overall creative process for the product for most of 2026 was well...plain. It wasn't terrible. But yeeaaaaaahhhhhhh, nothing felt overly exciting. The company had no major storyline driver. And thus, we saw the removal of Tommy Dreamer as head of creative at TNA after being with the company for almost ten years. Much of Slammiversary 2026 felt like it was pulled together two weeks out. And even heading into the show, with the added drama of Dreamer's release, TNA once again felt unstable.  Fortunately, what we got was a great show that feels like - again, there is that perception thing! - TNA is ...

Would You Rather: Questions 121-130

This edition of "Would You Rather" is credited to the NBA Would You Rather NBA Account on Instagram ( See Here ). Adding to the fun, this edition (and possibly future ones) are all NBA basketball questions.  121. Who would you rather have on your favorite NBA team - Giannis Antetokounpo or James Harden?  Seeing how I'm a lifelong suffering Knicks fan, the thought of any of these guys in blue and orange is hard to believe. With that said, I'm taking the Greek Freak for this reason - I enjoy watching him play a bit more. Nothing against Harden who is amazing as well, but at times, the ball sticks and that isn't always fun. Plus, I feel like we haven't yet seen a finished Giannis. 122. Would you rather have Giannis Antetokounpo with no driving ability or James Harden with no Three-Point shooting ability?  This is definitely a weird and unique one, but I'll take Harden. Giannis without his strength doesn't offer much. However, if Harden's d...

WWE SummerSlam 2026 Review: "Oba is made in the shade" & Roman vs. Seth Captures Magic

I can't say I was excited about SummerSlam heading into the event. Some storylines have moved me, but, much like pro wrestling in 2026, it feels like yet another incomplete creative vehicle (some good, some bad), with the hope that the event itself will overcome the shortcomings of the hype.  Admittedly, WWE could pull this off this weekend with some memorable moments (and outcomes), specifically from the two main title matches and from Oba Femi vs. Brock Lesnar. Maybe a return or two as well. Chances are, they likely will.  Personally, I have Penta vs. Chad Gable circled. I might be the only one, I know.  Nonetheless, happy SummerSlam weekend, everyone.  --- Random Tidbits Is it me, or were the overall vibes going into this year's SummerSlam just...well, off? I've already cited build, but there was just something else...ah well.  I know attendance is always a discussion point, but 30K+ is still pretty dam impressive for each night.  The stage was VERY impr...
