Sunday Sundown Rundown - 8/23/15

3 Up

1. Spencer Stone - The U.S. Airman doesn't want to be called a hero, but that's exactly what he and his two friends are after they foiled a planned terrorist attack aboard a train headed to France. The three men tackled and took on the gunman, disarming him, and punching him until he was unconscious. Thank Mr. Stone and friends. Thank you so much for truly saving what could have been a horrific day.

2. John Cena's 500th Make-a-Wish - His wrestling character aside, some pro athletes aren't even near 500 wishes granted, and they have an off-season! That just accentuates this accomplishment even more. Cena is truly a good guy who busts his ass for the fans and makes lives better for children who need the inspiration. Kudos to Cena. Keep rockin.

3. Pro Wrestling in Brooklyn - What a weekend it was, and boy was it so much fun! From ROH Field of Honor, NXT Takeover, and SummerSlam, pro wrestling was alive and oh so entertaining. I had a blast all weekend attending shows. I'll have a post up soon on my opinions from the weekend.

3 Down

1. Ashley Madison Leaks - I'm not sure if I should be more disappointed that records and private information are not as secure as they should be, or that thousands of people are cheating on their spouses. So disturbing either way. Do we not have any honorable people in our society anymore?

2. Jared Fogle - Wow, dude. You are the absolute worst. Child pornography and preying on minors? Good luck in prison with that rap sheet tied to the reputation of being "the Subway guy".

3. Deez Nuts 2016 - Sure it's funny to hear reporters attempt to say it with a straight face during a telecast, but the idea that there is support for this "candidate" is so, so sad. It's not all that hilarious, though. The people who take joy in this are the same who will be the first to complain about political issues facing them.

Dome Pondering Move Review: Say You Will (2017)

What is it about? A recent high school graduate cares for his mother while attempting to navigate his first relationship following his father's suicide.  Who is in it? Travis Tope - Sam Nimitz Katherine Hughes - Ellie Vaughn Favorite Scene: [spoiler alert] Sam plays his song for his mom. Favorite Quote: Ellie: "I wish we could have met down the road, maybe when we were like 27." Sam: "I think we needed each other now." Review:  Say You Will was an absolutely pleasant surprise of a watch from the Amazon Prime offerings.  I wasn't exactly sure what to expect with this one, but after the credits rolled, it was a movie that provided authentic characters and a great lesson on life. We don't always have to have everything figured out, and it's okay if you don't.  What makes Say You Will so beautiful is that all of the characters are carrying some inner struggle that connects them in the moment and time that helps them through whatever it is. The unlike...

Would You Rather: Questions 121-130

This edition of "Would You Rather" is credited to the NBA Would You Rather NBA Account on Instagram ( See Here ). Adding to the fun, this edition (and possibly future ones) are all NBA basketball questions.  121. Who would you rather have on your favorite NBA team - Giannis Antetokounpo or James Harden?  Seeing how I'm a lifelong suffering Knicks fan, the thought of any of these guys in blue and orange is hard to believe. With that said, I'm taking the Greek Freak for this reason - I enjoy watching him play a bit more. Nothing against Harden who is amazing as well, but at times, the ball sticks and that isn't always fun. Plus, I feel like we haven't yet seen a finished Giannis. 122. Would you rather have Giannis Antetokounpo with no driving ability or James Harden with no Three-Point shooting ability?  This is definitely a weird and unique one, but I'll take Harden. Giannis without his strength doesn't offer much. However, if Harden's d...

Sunday Sundown Rundown - 3/22/26

Airports, TSA, and Safety We all get frustrated with work. Whatever your work environment is, or whatever it is you do for a living, there is always a time or something that bothers you.  This week I'm thinking about TSA agents. They deal with people - come on now, they deal with the same people we people watch and shake our heads to at the airport - every single day. And for the last couple of weeks, they haven't been paid. How's that for frustrated and unfair?  And if the situation wasn't weird enough, ICE agents will begin working at airports tomorrow as part of their enforcement duties.  Travel just got more weird. My heart is with so many of the working TSA agents - be kind to them, ya'll. And airports have just become the most politicized places in the country.  What a time... "I Believe in You" My favorite part about March Madness (and, sports, really) is the stories behind the moments. Call me a sucker, but I still love those moments where an indiv...
