Sunday Sundown Rundown - 10/4/15

3 Up

1. Chris Mintz - Who else? In what is yet another horrific mass shooting on a school camps, Mintz took several bullets and helped saved the lives of many more. You sir, Mt. Mintz, are a real hero and who we should be talking about - NOT the suspect!

2. Neil Everett - OK, If you follow the DP, you know I'm not a huge fan of ESPN's SportsCenter and some of their coverage of sports. However, I came across Neil Everett's comments following the recent Oregon shootings and definitely gained respect for this dude. "What's going on with humanity?" Kudos to you Mr. Everett on taking a stand and saying exactly how we all feel.

3. Max Scherzer - Well, it didn't get them into the playoffs, but tossing another no-hitter, especially wen it comes with a side of 17Ks, is pretty damn impressive. Scherzer is a beast! It's just a shame the Nats couldn't get it together to see him toss when it really matters - October!

3 Down

1. Oregon Shooting - So ridiculous, I don't even feel like repeating what happened. Why are these type of incidents so prevalent in our country? Ugh, so disgusted. And oh yeah, the politicians who want to pipe in on "gun control" suddenly, go away.

2. Doctors Without Borders Attack - This incident unfortunately killed many serving doctors and staff in an apparent "oops" by our own government. Not a good look, and it cost many people their lives. Again, an unfortunate incident that leaves egg all over the face of our US military.

3. George Zimmerman - His latest social media use is not only a red flag, but truly, truly, truly disrespectful. Retweeting an image of a dead Trayvon Martin? Calling President Obama and the Oregon shooter the same? This guy has lost it. And in a big, big way.

Would You Rather: Questions 121-130

This edition of "Would You Rather" is credited to the NBA Would You Rather NBA Account on Instagram ( See Here ). Adding to the fun, this edition (and possibly future ones) are all NBA basketball questions.  121. Who would you rather have on your favorite NBA team - Giannis Antetokounpo or James Harden?  Seeing how I'm a lifelong suffering Knicks fan, the thought of any of these guys in blue and orange is hard to believe. With that said, I'm taking the Greek Freak for this reason - I enjoy watching him play a bit more. Nothing against Harden who is amazing as well, but at times, the ball sticks and that isn't always fun. Plus, I feel like we haven't yet seen a finished Giannis. 122. Would you rather have Giannis Antetokounpo with no driving ability or James Harden with no Three-Point shooting ability?  This is definitely a weird and unique one, but I'll take Harden. Giannis without his strength doesn't offer much. However, if Harden's d...

Quick Ponder: No Matter What

"You can give  everything to something, and no matter what, it is always gonna do what it's gonna do." I feel that these days. I get it.

The Pondering 10: 2026 NBA All-Star Weekend

Contrary to the discourse that always surrounds the NBA All-Star Weekend, I genuinely enjoyed the weekend, and even more so, the All-Star Game. No, for real. All love here.  Although the Dunk Contest really is on its last legs. That was tough to watch.  Nonetheless, I'm keeping it all good vibes on this one as a fan. Just a quick Pondering 10 on my favorite things from the 2026 NBA All-Star Weekend.  --- View this post on Instagram A post shared by New York Knicks 🏀 (@nyknicks) 10. JB vs. KAT Moment Big Knicks homer moment here. If you frequent these parts, you already know that. Watching the Captain go at KAT brought a moment of joy for all of us in Knicks fandom. Neither one came away with anything. I'm just glad they're in perfect health as we head toward the second half of the season with the Playoffs looming.  9. VJ Edgecomb Wins Rising Stars MVP It's a tough admit for me. Because, I already enjoy Tyrese Maxey's game so much. Now, another ...
