DP Hall of Fame Class 2015 - Randy "Macho Man" Savage

Growing up, there were two guys who immediately attracted my eyeballs when it came to pro wrestling, Bret "The Hitman" Hart and Randy "Macho Man" Savage. Savage was my first guy, dating back to my first years as a pro wrestling fan. The guy had it all: the crazy look, the flashy outfits, the incredible promos that hooked you, and, of course, the athleticism inside the ring.

To this day, Savage is still, at least in my eyes, one of the greatest all-around wrestlers to EVER grace a ring. I know we all have our opinions, but again, to me, Savage was special. He was the definition of a larger-than-life character.

In fact, I am such a big fan of Savage that I uttered the words, "ooooooh yeah" with a finger twirl at my wedding. After all, the wedding of Savage to Miss Elizabeth at Summerslam '92 was by far the coolest thing ever! And partly, because there is something slightly wrong with me in having to incorporate pro wrestling into a life-changing moment like marriage. Such is life. I'm nuts.

Now, if I recited some of those infamous Macho Man promo quotes into my vows, I would have to agree I may need mental help:

"We're in space! And Space is the place!"

"The madness is runnin' wild!"

"Oooooh yeeeah! I want everybody to freak out! Freak out! The Macho Man is right here, and I'm gonna take it to the limit! Yeah!"

"Best there is... past, present and future! Ohhhhh yeahhhh!"

""I'm too hot to handle and too cold to hold!"

And my all-time favorite...

"The tower of power, too sweet to be sour, ohhhh yeahh!"

Nonetheless, Savage is awesome, and now is the 6th induction into the DP Page of Fame. Ohhh yeeeeah, dig it!

Travis Tope - Sam Nimitz Katherine Hughes - Ellie Vaughn Favorite Scene: [spoiler alert] Sam plays his song for his mom. Favorite Quote: Ellie: "I wish we could have met down the road, maybe when we were like 27." Sam: "I think we needed each other now." Review:  Say You Will was an absolutely pleasant surprise of a watch from the Amazon Prime offerings.  I wasn't exactly sure what to expect with this one, but after the credits rolled, it was a movie that provided authentic characters and a great lesson on life. We don't always have to have everything figured out, and it's okay if you don't.  What makes Say You Will so beautiful is that all of the characters are carrying some inner struggle that connects them in the moment and time that helps them through whatever it is. The unlike...

Trying to Stay Mellow on Melo and his "Brand"

(Courtesy: NYTimes/Richard Perry) Alright, fire up the rant machine after this one folks.  "What's understood doesn't need to be spoken upon" #DestiNY #TheFutureIsNow — Carmelo Anthony (@carmeloanthony) June 26, 2015 Carmelo Anthony really hasn't been winning any points with me lately. None. I've been indifferent on him even as the years have gone on and the Knicks fanbase continues to split on supporting him. Lately, I've been creeping over to the negative side. For me, a big deciding factor was when he decided to play in the Knicks game in London and in the meaningless All-Star Game to continue "building his brand", and thus delaying his needed knee surgery to the point of affecting his return for this upcoming 15-16 season.
