Sunday Sundown Rundown - 5/22/15

3 Up

1. Shelby Erdahl - Much props and so much more to this student-athlete for Idaho State managed to finish a hurdles race after rupturing her achilles tendon. Let me repeat that, she kept running after she ruptured her achilles tendon. That's insane guts and heart. My hat is off to you Shelby.

2. Florence and the Machine - I'm a big fan of Florence and the Machine as I love their unique sound. I am an even bigger fan of the group after they gave a girl in hospice, who missed their concert the night before, a private concert. That's pro right there. Stand up superstars.

3. Chris Sale and Noah Syndergaard - Are there two hotter pitchers in baseball right now than Syndergaard and Chris Sale. Both are must-see right now.

3 Down

1. EgyptAir Flight 804 - Everything about this story is super sad. It all just fees eerie as it seems terrorism is at play here again. So unfortunate.

2. Prince Tribute - Sorry Billboard Music Awards, but that Prince Tribute by Madonna (an attempt of a save by Stevie Wonder) was horrible. Didn't do Prince justice at all. At. All.

3. NRA Proposal - You're surely entitled to your own opinion, but how equipping our schools with guns will make it any safer is beyond me. Sorry, I just don't understand it.

I’m punching the keys today from one of your martial arts practices. It’s your second with “the big kids” and also the second time I’ve found myself watching from the sidelines with anxiety, with pride, and with likely my biggest fandom for you yet in this space. My feelings are much more than you playing baseball or coaching you in basketball. Your disposition is different. Your excellence is different in this space. With martial arts, you stay diligent with the process. Respectful. Working hard. Getting better. In competition with and respecting the older kids you are training with. That’s what I’ve enjoyed. It encapsulates everything you’ve grown into thus far. Still empathetic as ever, but adding an element of self-ambition and drive - something I’ve prided myself on - and to see you mature into this m...
