The second inductee into the DP Hall of Fame, Friday Night Lights - book, movie, and film. This was a sure lock if you have been following this little blog for a while. DP devotees are well aware of this fact - I'm pretty obsessed with the series. And just so you know, I'm alright with that semi-embarrassing fact.
It's not difficult to find FNL quotes and comparisons used throughout many of the posts on this blog.
Being able to know the true story behind the original H.G. Bissinger novel, quote the entire film made to bring the novel to big picture, and to find myself connected to the Taylors of the TV series produced by Peter Berg, I accept it all as a loyal fan, and yes, just a hint of crazy.
Each of the three entities provides so much that represents American culture, from small towns, the love for football, racism, sexism, relationships, and, of course, the obsession with winning. FNL is a wonderful example of Americana.
Not to mention the again - the many, many quotes that are just awesome.
"Be Perfect" and "Clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose" - love em.
